Curse you addictive video games!

Oh good lord, what have I done? Why? Why?!?!

...I bought Sims 3 today.

I played the original Sims back when I was 14 or so, and never got Sims 2 because my computer was too crappy. But now I have a snazzy computer and disposable income, so I thought why not? Now I'm forgetting to eat and sleep because I'm too busy telling a virtual version of myself to eat and sleep. I spent an hour and a half trying to make Sim Jen look as much like me as possible. Hell, there are probably 30 different facial traits and bone structures and crap that you can tweak. Gahhhh.

The ironic part? My current job is "Professional Blogger" and I still can't get any guys to like me. Damnit, Sims 3. You're supposed to be an escape from real life, not a brutally honest reflection of it. Oh well, at least I haven't set fire to my real stove (yet).

I think it's time to start making Sim versions of celebrities for me to hit on. Suggestions? I kind of want to make a mad scientist PZ as my neighbor. They even have squid themed pajamas!

  1. Sounds like a good virtual representation of P-Zed to me.

  2. I only ever played the first Sims and it was addicting. I will stick with my addiction to Fallout 3 and Warhammer Online for now. :)

  3. I may not believe in heaven or hell, but I do know evil, and The Sims are it...

Good luck, you poor, lost soul :-P

  4. I never had the original Sims, but my wife turned me on to Sims 2. We were at Frys yesterday when they opened for Sims 3 and I spent hours playing last night.

It could be worse. We could be knocking on the doors of total strangers and trying to tell them about Jesus.....

  6. I got the third one, and it was pretty fun. Started eating my time rather quickly, but that's what those games do.

Though, I've given up trying to simulate myself in those games. It either ends in death or said Sim living the most awesome life ever because I can manage time in a game, but not in the world proper. <.<

  7. I played between classes during the week, and then from dawn to dusk yesterday and today. I think I've managed to get myself sick enough of the micromanagement that I'm actually NOT craving it, and can focus properly on finally graduating.

    I think.
